Day 53, Buckhorn Lake to Hindman, 49 miles

8-1-2019
While this was a short day mileage wise, it had about 4500 vertical ft of climbing.  So not an entirely easy day.  I left early as usual to beat the heat.  It was foggy this morning and I expect that the rest of the mornings will be similar.  For the most part, quiet roads except around Combs.  Combs was the first coal mine activities I've seen so far.  In Hindman they have a program to help recovering addicts learn a trade.  Making musical instruments.   I'm staying at the Baptist church in town.
