We (Bob and I) punched extra miles yesterday to lighten the load today. I thought about going further, but decided not to. It was plenty warm when we left Great Bend. On 281 south we had full brunt of headwinds and instead opted to follow Google maps. Nice quiet country roads. All went well until Alden, where we ended up with no Easterly paved roads, so we backtracked to Alden and made our way East to KS14/96. Soon in Sterling, home to Sterling College, another sleepy KS town.
Heat wave has apparently hit today, at least 100 out there. Hoteling it again as winds and temp are supposed to be high all night.
